Support During Covid-19
We've been working hard to keep providing the much needed support and services during this difficult time.
Andy has made sure that the children we support are still able to enjoy music therapy by uploading a series of music sessions to YouTube to keep the children amused while we are all unable to deliver our much needed music therapy to the children on the wards at JR.
Karen, another one of our talented music therapists, is here in her PPE on the first day we were allowed back at Royal Berks Hospital Reading. She was thrilled and relieved to be back on Lion Ward and delivering face to face music therapy to the children again. After so many months of being unable to enter the wards at all, Karen said it was such a joy to be back.
We dropped off 60 pamper packs for the parents we support at John Radcliffe children’s hospital. They are having a really tough time during lockdown unable to leave the ward at all because the children, many of whom are in chemo or with a serious medical condition are so vulnerable to infection. Unable to access their usual Rosie’s Rainbow Fund parent support from our wonderful Amanda, we came up with this idea and hope that the packs which contain lots of quality items such as shower gels, hand creams, pens, cookies, etc will assure the parents that we haven’t forgotten them. (Also some nice hand creams for the nurses. Thank you from us to you for your selfless work.)
Our wonderful trustee, Bev, delivered a car full of pamper packs to Stoke Mandeville. With the help of Play specialist Jackie and one of the paediatric nurses from the children's wards these packs are being distributed today to parents who are currently in hospital with their children while they are patients at Stoke Mandeville.
We feel positive that the new delivery will be eagerly and gratefully received by parents at Stoke.
Rosies Rainbow Fund provide music therapy for some very ill children at Stoke and have been delivering virtual live sessions via iPad to children on the Spinal unit.
Our love and rainbows to all of you at this time.
